This past weekend, the boys and girls cross country teams competed in the annual Hokum Karem at Plainfield High School.
In the Rebels’ only race that consists of two partners running together, they fared pretty well with the boys and girls placing 8th and 7th respectively. The meet consisted of 13 teams.

The Lady Rebel golf team defended their number one state ranking in a match versus second-ranked Carmel High School and Warren Central on Monday, August 23. Junior Abbey Gleixner co-medelled with a golfer from Carmel by shooting a 37. The girls have been ranked first all season and look to continue their winning streak August 25 against Cardinal Ritter.

Since the birth of the Roncalli-Southport Rivalry in 2008, the Rebels of Roncalli have dominated the Cardinals of Southport by 20 and 8 points respectively. This past Friday night however, the rivalry took a turn for the better, (or for the Rebels a worse,) in the closest game between them this decade.

Last year, the Rebels were led by then junior Brandon Petree rushing for 118 yards and scoring all three of Roncalli’s touchdowns; as the Rebels went on to defeat the Cardinals 21-13.

Varsity girls volleyball started off their season with a win against Carmel. They won the first three games 25-19, 25-19, and 25-14. Senior Hannah Hartnett had 14 kills. JV was defeated by the Greyhounds in two games. However, freshmen were able to come out on top with a three game win.
